ART EXHIBITION AND CONCERT

Due to the cancellation of the performance by the School Band and Choir at the recent Dickin's Festival at the Broadstairs Bandstand, it was decided to hold the concert at the School on 11 July to recognise all of the hard work by staff and especially students in preparations for this event.

There was also an Art Exhibition, prior to the Concert which displayed many works from the various study year groups showing some very impressive and clever design and artistic pieces.

I was very pleased to be able to attend on behalf of the Association. The evening was a roaring success and gave the Choir and Band some added confidence.

There are some pictures in the "Photo Gallery" not only showing the Band and Choir but also displaying your gift of music stand banners, for which the Staff and Band were appreciative and I must say add a touch of professionalism to the overall appearance on stage. Many thanks to all who donated and supported the Old Boys Association Reunion Raffles which provided the funds.

 CONTINUED SUPPORT OF SCHOOL PROJECTS

St. George's "Old Boys" Richard Joy and Robert Hopkins visited the School on 29th May 2012 to present 12 music stand banners to aid all students involved in the outstanding School Band.

The money has been raised through raffles and donations which have not only enabled the Association to supply the banners but also to commit further financial support to other school activities.

St. George's Old Boys Association are also funding an annual Speech Day prize starting this year.

The attendance of the School Principal, Mrs Kim Stoner, and the Head and Deputy Head Boy at this year's reunion in celebration of St. George's Day (April 2012) was extremely popular with those who attended the reunion and the links forged will continue to grow.
